Student Chapters

Student chapters provide unique opportunities for students and professors alike to network, mentor, and bond over common interests. Through their involvement with the overall APSG organization, students not only gain skills to prepare them for future jobs through education and event planning - but also network with those members who could help them as they transition into their professional career.

Student Chapter Member Benefits

APSG would like to invite you to join our organization as a member of your nearest Student Chapter. Students who join this group typically have an interest in or are planning to pursue a career in geomatics, surveying, positioning, geospatial data management, engineering, and/or mapping sciences within the Energy, Oil and Gas, and Petroleum industries. Aren't quite sure if you want to dive more into those topics? Many students also find the structure of Student Chapters to be a sufficient way to gain more experience in professional activities and tasks - such as developing agendas, completing student projects, and networking with peers.

Annual membership dues are low-cost and vary based on level of access. As an organization, APSG strives to make access to this group realistic for students so membership dues are offered at a discounted price as shown in the Membership Application.

With this membership, you gain access to:

  • ANNUAL MEETINGS - Meetings featuring member presentations, student map competitions, and networking are held in the Spring and Fall each year. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided.
  • SOCIALS - APSG hosts events every other month at local hot spots around Houston, TX to bring our members together. Enjoy a drink on us!
  • STUDENT CHAPTERS & EVENTS - Our organization encourages education through local colleges and events. Get involved with graduates moving into the Oil and Gas industry or simply gain exposure to a few of the biggest companies in the business.
  • MEMBERS ONLY CONTENT - Our website features materials, like presentation, workshop announcements, and much more, that can only be accessed by APSG members.
